🔵 Installing a NUC

Показать описание
Originally a split to prevent swarming, this NUC box received 3 deep frames of bees and brood, 1 medium frame and 1 deep frame of honey/nectar along with a Queen cell. In just 5 weeks you can see how fast a split builds up as a new Queen emerges, goes on her mating flight and starts to build her new colony. I almost waited too long before moving this NUC into their new full size 10 frame box.

Filmed entirely at Appalachian Heirloom Plant Farm & Apiary, Winchester, Ohio with a Motorola Z4.

Video compiled with Shotcut.

I am going to be a first-time beekeeper this summer. I have polystyrene hives. The hives I have do not have screen bottom boards. Do I need a screen bottom board? What do you suggest?
