The passages today were exactly what I needed. My husband is having a medical test today. I’m thankful for the promises I see in God’s word. If you see this please pray the doctors have wisdom and find out what is causing his problems. Thank you and most of all thank you Jesus!

After reading the Bible (almost) daily this past year, I can see how God is changing me. He is giving me understanding and discernment to overcome temptation. I am far from perfect but am thankful for how far He has brought me! Praise the Lord! Thank you TBR!

2 Cor 2:15 brings up a new metaphor for me: my life and attitude should be a sweet aroma of God’s love, patience, and humility, for everyone around me.

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. What a magnificent promise.

God’s Light shines through our pain and suffering. We are “fragile clay pots that contain this great treasure, ” which is God’s Light (2 Cor 4:7). That Light is the same Light that started all of creation when God said “Let there be Light” (2 Cor 4:6). And that Light that created the world is this “Light that shines in our hearts” (2 Cor 4:6). That’s a new concept for me: Jesus, whom John says is the Light of the world, is that creative power that makes things new (in Revelation, Jesus says “I AM making all things new”). He puts His Light in us that others see, as though we are cracked clay jars and His Light is seen through those cracks—those marks of suffering. Those “troubles” we experience—both bodily and tragically (2 Cor 4:16) are how we comfort each other (2 Cor 1:4), “for the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with His comfort through Christ” (2 Cor 1:5). Suffering and grief are the cracks in our lives through which the Light of Christ shines through.

2 Cor 4:18, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

This resonates with me because it is something I have been reminded to do often lately- to keep my eyes on Jesus and not on my circumstances. He is eternal and my circumstances are temporary. ❤️

Regarding our earthly vessels, “ every chip, every crack is an opportunity for the light to burst forth”, oh God make that true in me!!! Thank you Tara Leigh, you’re such a blessing!

Even though I don't typically comment, I look forward to and read everyone's thoughts each day...praising God, asking for prayers...following your journeys. I hope and pray y'all will be here again in the new year, and if not, we'll miss you! Thank you to Tara-Leigh for opening my eyes to God's Word and teaching me so many things this year! So excited to start again on January 1st! Have a wonderful week, everyone! ❤✝️

God comforts us so that we can comfort others (2 Cor 1:4). I am currently living this out with the loss of a nephew on Saturday. I feel God's comfort so strongly and God is helping me comfort other family members who are grieving. He is using me to spread His fragrance and the aroma of Christ (2 Cor 2:14-15). He is increasing my boldness because of the hope I have in Him ( 2 Cor 3:12). May I continue to fix my eyes on Him and not on what is seen (2 Cor 4:15). I pray this for my family too. 🙏🏽

“The relationship is a done deal. Mawage!” I loved the reference to The Princess Bride. You are hilarious, Tara Leigh. Thanks for the smiles and humor to keep us engaged. 😂❤

Wow! Tara-Leigh, you were already one of my favorite Bible teachers, and I was leaning toward doing another year with TBR in 2025....then you casually dropped in just the BEST Princess Bride reference and became one of my favorite people ever(sorry kids, you just moved down to number 2) 🤣🤣 In all seriousness though, you always make me laugh and more importantly, you always teach me something new about God and His Word.❤ Your ministry is doing SO much to further the Kingdom!

My brothers and sisters we are God’s word to the lost. Let us reflect His character: love, mercy, grace, strength, perseverance, etc. We are letters to others, the lost. Letters not written on stone or paper or a computer monitor, but rather on human hearts. Let us be alive with the Word of God overflowing from our hearts. That’s my God-shot.

“And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“That is why I wrote to you as I did, so that when I do come, I won’t be grieved by the very ones who ought to give me the greatest joy. Surely you all know that my joy comes from your being joyful. I wrote that letter in great anguish, with a troubled heart and many tears. I didn’t want to grieve you, but I wanted to let you know how much love I have for you.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This verse is my God shot because it shows how much love Paul truly has in his heart, but it also shows the extreme amount of love Jesus has. As we grow stronger in our faith and connection with God, our lives begin to reflect Jesus; so this verse to me shows the extreme amount of love Jesus has for his children, reflecting through Paul. I pray that we can all embody some of this love today andshare it to others. God bless all y’all today.✝️💪

So many things that stand out to me. God is our seal! He anointed us, sealed us, and has given us His spirit in our hearts!

All His promises are “yes” and “amen”! I love how TLC reminds us that amen = “So be it, Lord.” It’s His will and His promises- not mine.

The veil. That ugly veil that covers the eyes and hearts of those who don’t know Him. Only God can remove it. That veil is taken away in Jesus, yet some, too many, are still blinded. When one turns to the Lord, it is taken away. Father, let those who are blinded come to you and remove that veil!

The light of the gospel should be shining in our hearts as God commanded. We are His vessels and although we may face (we will face) hard times, they are temporary and each crack or chip in our earthly vessel should make His light shine from our hearts even brighter. What a great mental picture for us to think about!

Sometimes I do lose heart, but I’m thankful for Paul’s reminder and I’m thankful that the Lord always pursues me and comes around with a life preserver. All of the struggles and worries this side of heaven are temporary. When I can remember to tell the enemy to flee and lean into His promises, I can remember that my heart needs to focus on the things that matter- the eternal things- and not get so caught up in the here and now. What is the truth versus what am I feeling right now?

Hallelujah- praise the one who set me free. Death has lost its grip on me! All your promises are yes and amen! So be it, Lord, according to your will!!!
