Remarking that he was the only dealer with the parts to their J-327 Nubian Royal Starship’s T-14 hyperdrive, he asks the Jedi master how he was going to pay for the parts. Qui-Gon made an offer for 20,000 Republic Dataries, but the Toydarian would not accept a currency at risk of change. Despite several attempted mind tricks, Watto was resistant, forcing Qui-Gon to rethink and use the upcoming pod race to gain the parts required. But what if Watto had accepted the Republic credits? What would become of Anakin? What effect would it have on Padme? As you are about to discover, Watto is going to change everything…

Honestly there's one big flaw in this story: Contingency Order 66 can only be ordered by the Supreme Chancellor, meaning Plageuis executing the order in all reality would do absolutely nothing.

Plagueis seems like the better duelist, when is explaining to Sidious to never ever fight Dooku, because he would kill Sidious with his superior swordsmanship. He seems like highly talented, but not so good as Plagueis, but can be defeaated in certain situations. Sidious of course didn't kill Plagueis with a sword, but got him drank and then destroyed his breathing mask and used force, the Sith lightning

What if Anakin didnt charge at Dooku in Attack of the Clones? I imagine a decently long battle with Anakin and Obi clearly being outmatched but still maintaining a fight long enough for Yoda to show up. I imagine no one hurt Dooku isnt able to escape and to the Republic's belief Dooku captured the Separatists are basically screwed without a vocal leader. They quickly are seen as terrorists and are hunted down by the Jedi and clones with Grievous not being able to control the situation. The droids would still be produced to fight but there is no longer much political support. Palpatine may have to execute Order 66 3-4 years earlier if he is unable to find a replacement quickly. Ventress probably is a much better person too.

i feel like this isn't what would happen. Qui gon was surprisingly in touch with the force, so he 100% would have been able to distinquish anakin a neutral sensative from maul. On top of that it assumes some pretty big plays like qui gon actually following dooku, and ignores that it was generally hard to clone force sensitives, with the rate of error being incredibly high. on top of that, it assumes that obi wan someone known and renown for his adhereance to the code, even when young, just happens to abandon all of that and go out to the sith.

The story is a good story, but I think it would have benefited from more time, more breathing room, and more room to set in motion events rather than just hand waving some pretty big stuff.
