Something about the orbea orca aero bike always drew me in, I love the lines on the bike and also the color options of the bike.... I think they did a great job on this High end aero bike

What I appreciate most about Orbea is how much you can customize the bikes when you buy. Custom paint colors, crank length and gearing, seatpost offset and so on. Wish more companies would do this

I've been riding this frameset for 2 years and I would guess that you could easily upgrade the spec to be "weight competitive" to any other brand with any allegedly top end brand with an aero specific bike in its range, but that's not its purpose. I'm running 30mm tyres and I've had so many club mates asking me if I think the gap between frame and tyres like @ 5:55 -6:30 here is safe.... all I can say to them and you is that I've had zero issues to date, after thousands of miles on mixed surfaces and seasons. Based on what is the current standard for "seeing aero", I've always been a bit puzzled why the Orca Aero doesn't get mentioned more often than it does, so massive Kudos to Grant for this video. All I can say is Orbea absolutely nailed it with this frame and they didn't get near enough credit compared to the so called "big brands" when it was launched IMHO. Beyond that, all I can offer further is that this is the most comfortable bike I own currently, which is something I was absolutely not expecting when I bought it.

Their costumization options are great and overall they are a great company, my bikefitter is actually an Orbea dealer. The storage box makes it look too much like an E-bike for my liking. If you like puristic climbing bikes they are also the right company for you.

Obviously sick bike. Looks super aero but tour magazine tested it slower than tarmac sl7 and even without the storage is still heavier.

Just got this bike from my racing team. Have only ridden it for a couple of rides, did not race with it yet.

Positive points:
+ Being able to choose crank, handlebar and stem. Also big range of options such as 36cm bar and 165mm stem.
+ 32mm tyre clearance. Not the best, but could be worse.
+ Switchable offset (0mm or -2.5mm) of seat post.

Negative points:
- Weight: without the box and with pedals mine is 8.4 kg with ultegra di2. Even for an aero bike that is insanely heavy, especially considering the (only) 45mm deep wheels.
- Handlebar design is poor. Cables are sticking out on bottem, it does not look aero.
- The computer mount (that it comes with) sits very high. Looks very poorly designed.

All things considered I think this bike is okay because of the easy maintenance, but I would not recommend it for racing. For 6.5k there are better options out there that are more aero, weigh less and give better performance in general.

I have this exact bike. It's very comfortable and handles exceptionally, especially at high speeds downhill.

When I was in the market I definitely had an Orca fully spec'd up (admittedly not the Aero, but same idea) - would have been beautiful. I was concerned how it would feel to ride, and the SL7 was a known entity so that's what I ended up with. But the Orca was a very close second. Thanks for sharing this one - I still love what they're doing with their bikes.

I have this bike with Shimano Ultegra Di2. In size 55 its about 8.2kg with pedals and the aero bottle + storage and mount. Its a rocketship on group rides and rolling terrain. The big surprise was how comfortable it is. It doesn't rattle your filling like previous aerobikes I've ridden have. I added 62mm Bontrager Aeolus RSL wheels.

I ride DH bikes but this really caught my attention, the rear cassette being 10 and pretty small cluster screams fast! I totally love the lines of the bike it's one to put up on the wall in your living room like a trophy hahahaa Little bit of white, Mint, tang orange and matte black would be my livery color selection.

A Falath Evo has even more carbon, mine in a 54, with Pedals/bottles/Gamin im at 8, 3kg. The orca is way to heavy....that thing is almost 9Kg and 9Kg it should not cost more than 3500 - 4000$

I wish the regular Orca took all these aero principles (mainly the dropped seatstays + flat TT) but just combined them with lighter tube profiles. That seems to be the path to "one bike to rule them all".

Definitely would’ve gotten an orca aero if my LBS had my size in stk when I was looking for a new bike

I'm curious about your opinion on Oquo handlebar. In my opinion, it is little bit flexy, which fine from my perspective (I think it adds comfort and I am not sprinting very often). What's you view on this?

I would take a Canyon Aeroad over this.
I bought an Aeroad Disc in 2017 with Di2, but sold it in 2020 as I was no longer riding it. Still love them though 👍

Frame looks great for sure but overall expensive & heavy for what it is.

what a brick! it is also not so aero according to tour magazin testing

Great value. In Europe either Orca Aero or Foil RC Pro are pretty cheap for what you get back, mind the stock availability.
With different handlebars, carbon cranks and 353 NSW it gets sub 7Kg (w\Out storage ofc)

Thx for the video GC!
