How to view Disks, Partitions and Mount Points in Linux

This is a demonstration of how you can view or list disks, partitions, and mount points in Linux. The demonstration is done using the Ubuntu Linux distro, but these techniques can be used on most, if not all, Linux desktops and servers.

Command line tools we used:
- fdisk
- lsblk
- hwinfo
- GUI-based Disk Tool

🐧When installing packages in different Linux distros, please use the appropriate command. Here is a quick reference guide:
$ sudo apt-get install {PAKAGE_NAME_HERE} - [On Debian/Ubuntu & Mint]
$ sudo dnf install {PAKAGE_NAME_HERE} - [On CentOS/RHEL/Fedora and Rocky Linux/AlmaLinux]
$ pacman -S {PAKAGE_NAME_HERE} - [On Arch Linux]
$ emerge sys-apps/{PAKAGE_NAME_HERE} - [On Gentoo]
$ sudo dnf install {PAKAGE_NAME_HERE} - [On Fedora]
$ sudo zypper install {PAKAGE_NAME_HERE} - [On openSUSE]

Im installing linux mint on a external SDD to dual boot windows and linux. However every time linux gets installed no matter what I do it only uses 2gb out of my 1tb for linux. Meaning linux works fine but has no room for downloading anything

I need help, while installing Ubuntu it appears to be the following message. "The installer needs to commit changes to partition tables, but cannot do so because partitions on the following mount point cloud not be unmounted /cdrom Please close any applications using these mount point Would you like the installer to try to unmount these partitions again" Thank you very much.
