“Are you out of your mind” in advanced English would actually be “Are you insane?”

When I use advanced English in an essay
My teacher: this is too “slang”

What’s funny is, half of the “basic English” is more natural than the “advanced English” and most of the “advanced” are so informal that they could be considered rude.

I wouldn’t say “drop dead gorgeous”- beautiful is like “that’s pretty!” Drop dead gorgeous is like “omg that’s so beautiful I’m speechless”

Spotted a mistake.. “are you out of your mind?!” actually means “are you crazy?!” not mad, ( as in the emotion like angry ) but crazy can be a word that means the same as mad if it uses the ‘mad’ that means crazy
