Apache Tomcat, often referred to as Tomcat Server, is an open-source Java Servlet Container developed by the Apache Software Foundation.
Tomcat implements several Java EE specifications including Java Servlet, JavaServer Pages (JSP), Java EL, and WebSocket, and provides a "pure Java" HTTP web server environment in which Java code can run.
Tomcat is developed and maintained by an open community of developers under the auspices of the Apache Software Foundation, released under the Apache License 2.0 license, and is open-source software.

A servlet is a Java programming language class that is used to extend the capabilities of servers that host applications accessed by means of a request-response programming model. Although servlets can respond to any type of request, they are commonly used to extend the applications hosted by web servers. For such applications, Java Servlet technology defines HTTP-specific servlet classes.

XD i didn't even realize u had a windows tutorial. I used your mac ones for windows and worked fine except for setting environmental variables. Had to follow stackexchange for that. For anyone who gets the catalina define error in command prompt when running startup, just google the error and find the stackexchange page, move your apache installation folder to root (C:\), set up your paths according to your folder name/paths then run the command again and you should be good. Remember to copy the class path exactly as is. Delete any ";" if u see any
