And THIS is why people who have financial freedom aka "Fuck you Money" are happier. They just can make a plan, focus on the things they want and produce EXCELLENT output. You have a truly unique background, an audience AND quite frankly a ton of creative and smart thoughts so a writing room is absolutely where I could see you, probably even a interview show or late night style show.

Just read No/Name’s first chapter. Holy crap it’s absolutely amazing

You look so happy when you are with him (edge runner creator). You looks like a kid who meets their idol. That told so much about your dream creating story

Your videos are always so well written that i'm excited to see what you have written when it finally comes out.

As an aspiring writer and novelist, this video was really informative and helped a lot in finding out what I might've been doing wrong all this time spent trying to write a good story. Huge thanks to you!

As a fellow aspiring writer I just wanted to chime in and tell you that you've created some of my favorite short fiction pieces ever on this channel. Uncle Magnet, Butter, Classic Flavor, Sharks and Vanity, Useful Words in Tokyo are videos I revisit regularly and I can't wait to see what stories you are going to create in the future.

When you say your creative writing aspirations faded, i think they actually fermented! Sometimes we think we're not thinking about something but our brains are chewing on it behind our back lol.

You help inspire us creatives who are stuck in the quagmire of our 9-5 jobs. I'd love to be able to write but with health issues and work burnout I find it hard to find the mental spoons to do what I love. But even if its on the back burner for now I know I'll come back to those stories I want to tell even if it takes a while to get there. ^_^

Just read it and wow, the power system is very promising and the panelling is god-tier. Can't wait for the second chapter man

I want to have a labor of love based financial freedom in my life, it seems so freeing and rewarding. Yes I understand the work involved, but it seems so freeing and enriching from a creativity and life enrichment perspective.

LOVE IT! I always love your videos, I'm always laughing before you get to the punchline.

Please put a join button up. You will be the first YouTuber that I willingly give a little money to every month. I hope to meet you in person someday just like you met your hero in this vid.

Thank you for this video! It was so interesting to watch and I really hope you can go back to writing stories soon!

It's important that he asked even for amateur input! A variety of eyes can be much more helpful than a similar set of eyes on a given project! There are things an amateur can see that a pro might gloss over, and vice versa!

I know that feeling so well. When a story impacts you so deeply that you feel like there will never be anything in the world as good as that experience (and then the anxiety of wondering if your real life will ever be as profound as that feeling you had experiencing a fiction). I've had that itch to want to write things, too, after those kinds of moments. To make a story that resonates with people, connects with their hearts, inspires all kinds of feelings. I've never written one before. I always write my ideas though, in case someday I can get myself to work on them.

I've watched your channel for years now, even though I've never learned Japanese. That too is a faraway dream that I'd love to achieve someday. This video had me so excited! I hope the manga goes well, and I really can't wait to hear about your stories! Already rooting for you and hoping you find an audience with them.

I watched this video with a dumb smile on my face. I am very happy you were able to pursue one of your dreams from when you were younger because something inspired and pushed you. I am looking forward to reading the manga, but, most of all, I really hope that this will be just the first step to see more of your work out there. Congratulations again. Big hug from the Netherlands!
Ps: I've just read the first chapter, and it's really freaking good!

Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
Your videos are some of the best examples of story telling I know, even though I understand little Japanese and rely on the subtitles! So I'd be very interested in reading some of your "long-term" work. Keep on pursuing your dream! And thanks for the recommendation for No\Name of course ^_^

Dogen, do you feel that as someone who is very aware of their word choices and indirect statements that it is easy to end up editing towards your own biases or is finding a diverse group of editors best benefited specifically from that diverse group of biases?
To keep it brief I'm high-functioning autistic (it used to be called Asperger's but apparently it all got consolidated years ago) and because it can sometimes be hard to know what people mean, I ended up becoming very picky about words and language use. It's relatable to hear you say you edit tweets like that when I'm doing precisely that right now. I was curious for your take on this as someone else that could easily enjoy that same role in creative writing and storytelling.

I wonder if you've ever considered interviewing Mike Pondsmith. I ask because gamers like myself were using "chrome" and "cyber-psycho" in our own Cyberpunk stories since 1989. All props to Jaki for creating compelling characters and really making the world of Cyberpunk come alive, but it is unfair to compare other writers attempting to create their worlds out of whole cloth, as you describe Gamu-san doing, to being able to take a ready-made universe with three decades of backstory to set your story arc in.
