Let’s talk HUNGER! I say “honor your hunger” a lot when talking about intuitive eating but what does that even MEAN?! How do you know if you’re hungry? How do you actually honor your hunger cues?! In this video we will go over what hunger is. Did you know there are actually 4 types of hunger?! Taste hunger, emotional hunger, practical hunger and biological hunger. We’ll discuss all 4 and I’ll give you some practical tips for how to honor your hunger!

Overthinking hunger and fullness maybe as a topic? Sometimes that either paralyzes me or makes me start eating fast and before I know it, I'm too full.

Does anyone else eat basically a whole meal whilst picking at the ingredients you're cooking? I guess it's Taste hunger. It's my main problem with eating when i'm not hungry, it looks and smells so good i can't wait.

It’s just hard to use the mindful techniques sometimes because the food just tastes so good and once I start eating it’s hard to stick to my plans of using the techniques

Practical hunger is so useful, it helps me to eat decently throughout the day. However sometimes i struggle to apply it cause my mind thinking that i atcually just making excuses to "binge" and therefore i feel so guilty after eating even though I'm not actually binging 😭😭

I am eating intuitively nowadays, after two years it is the first time that i told my body there is no dieting anymore. It felt strange and when i do not want to eat, when i realize that i surprise every time

An example of practical hunger: I am not usually super hungry in the mornings, but I know that I would be starving by lunchtime if I didn’t eat breakfast. I don’t necessarily have to have a huge breakfast but I could have something small like an apple with yogurt, cereal, or some toast with avocado. Things that can hold me for 2-3 hours.

my hunger cues never came back ( i use to have anorexia and have been weight restored) even tho i’ve been eating on a schedule (every 3-4 hours) for over a year and 2200-2400 calories. i always have to force myself to eat and it is sooo unpleasant i just wish i had hunger again so it’d be easier to eat. i also lost the rewarding feeling when i eat ( i heard anorexia can mess up the brain reward system). i hope the brain altercations will be restored eventually. i honestly have NO appetite at all and eating feels so forced. i feel so frustrated and will give up eventually 😭 idk what to do and my dietician doesn’t know either. maybe i’m doing something incorrectly and that’s why they are not back? if i listened to my hunger, i literally would not eat at all since i have absolutely ZERO hunger
