How to Make German Pizza, also known as Flammkuchen
Well, I'm here to show you and I promise it will be easy and delicious.
Coming from the French and German Boarder Region, it is known in Germany as Flammkuchen and in France as tarte flambée and it absolutely perfect as a quick lunch or dinner.
This recipe is my go to when my boyfriend wants me to make dinner because I know I can make it in an instant. This was actually a recipe he showed me!
The dough is extremely easy and you can add anything as a topping, so it is really perfect for everyone.
We will be making two types today, but honestly, you can add whatever you like on these tasty crunchy treats.
My favorite is asparagus and salmon.
What would you put on yours?
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cup (200 grams) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup (110ml) water
- 200 grams schmand (or sour cream)
- Salt and Pepper
- Small pinch of nutmeg
- 1-2 small onions
- 50-100 grams bacon (in cubs or strips)
