5:27 Fun fact: The police corruption in these show is one things Bruce Timm meant when he said that "in this show we will be able to do things couldn't in BTAS".

I can't confirm but, from what I heard, when they produce BTAS, one the restrictions Timm and Dini had to deal was with the fact they were forbidden to portray Gotham's official as corrupt since, according to the channel "they couldn't show anything that would make children lose faith in the system". This is why in BTAS characters like Mayor Hill was change from a corrupt to a incompetent politician and Rupert Thorne was change to straight up mobster (note: to avoid offensive italian steriotypes, the BTAS creators couldn't use Batman's mobster villains . This is why that show didn't had characters like Carmine Falcone or Sal Maroni).

Glad Caped Crusader allowed Timm to explore this aspect of Gotham, showing why the city would need a vigilante like Batman, and also gives GCPD characters like Gordon and Montoya more active role in the stories.

so far the Clayface episode is my favorite. Perfect way to blend the Golden Age Actor-turned Serial Killer in a Mask with the Modern clay shapeshifter portrayal

The guy who voices Alfred is a great British actor called Jason Watkins. He's a good character actor who been in lots of things in the UK, like Doctor Who, Being Human and Inside No. 9. I think most American audiences would recognise him as Prime Minister Harold Wilson in the third season of the Crown. Great actor, perfect actor for Alfred.

I think gentlemen ghost was ny favorite episode. As much as i love when batman has magic metal mittens to punch ghosts with, him trying to do magic is always a great fish out of water moment.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the restraint the show had. I would definitely be willing to show this to a kid that’s 12 and up. The kind of kid that reads Tom Clancy novels.

I like how everyone has different body types. I always thought everyone had the same body shapes in the Batman tas/justice league designs.

When it comes to the race swap, I'm more ambivalent towards it. I got to agree with la'ron readus. Sometimes, they work and add towards characters. Other times, they can be reductive and become a trope like Amber unintentionally becoming the disposable black love interest.

I do hope season two gives us more costume villains to play with as this season was fairly light on that front.

I watched it all last night and i enjoyed every episode. It reminded me of the 90s Batman animated series. This is a hit for DC. Hopefully we get another season.

I thought they were going to cop out and make Gentlemen Ghost a Scooby Doo villain, I am glad they didn't because he was my favorite. I like that Batman was wrong about him too showing he's not perfect

Great review of the series! I totally enjoyed the series from top to bottom. Shout out to you and the series for mentioning Papa Midnite. One of many underrated magical character from DC's library that deserves more attention.

I had the opportunity to watch all 10 episodes and to be honest I enjoyed it. I thought that the episodes were intriguing and I like the changes to certain characters but there are characters that stood out to me like two face. At least this review is honest, looking at the substance of the show rather than what’s on the surface. I have heard other Youtubers bash the show all because they change the penguin to a woman, and there is female representation, even though these characters are pretty well written. It is still a male driven society in terms of the setting, but overall I like the writing. People that want to complain about this show I think have issues with themselves and no longer want to just sit and watch a show but just nitpick every single thing that they think is wrong with it

So far I've only seen the first two episodes and will watch the rest later (because I hate binging). Honestly my expectations for this show are perfectly met which is it's adequate but kind of forgettable. It's definitely not on the level of X-Men '97 or My Adventures With Superman for me. I am quite excited to see the show's Catwoman because Catwoman was always a character that they majorly dropped the ball with in Batman TAS. It wasn't until The New Batman Adventures that Catwoman started to feel like Catwoman in the DCAU.

This was pretty fun. Like the way this show highlights lesser known villains in Batman’s rogues gallery. Love how Batman changes his voice when being Bruce and vice versa. It’s so quick lol 😂
