Now Elon should buy YouTube and bring back the dislike button.

Oh boy Twitter's algorithms are now going to be open source!! That's huge.

Advertisers will advertise where the masses are, that argument that advertisers might disappear cause certain things are being said on Twitter seems bananas

As it should be. We're looking forward for a fair balance. Censorship and biased moderation has always been the biggest problem with Twitter. Thanks Elon! You got my business.

According to Reuters’ sources, he told bankers that he plans to develop revenue-growing features, and one of his examples is “charging a fee when a third-party website wants to quote or embed a tweet from verified individuals or organizations.”

In what world was Twitter a "safe and friendly place" already ?

I’m really enjoying watching these BS “news” channels lose their minds over the fact that we will be able to talk back again. The more control they lose the happier I feel.

Mostly I’m expecting changes that help prevent the rich from being policed, or provide them with more power to hinder those who speak out, and it will probably be done under the guise of helping protect smaller groups, like how YouTube removed the dislike count! Seriously, that needs to come back.

Hope he’ll remove the character limit entirely because that really limits actual discussion and discourse

This dude really doesn’t get why we want an edit button…

Love Elon. My only problem is there's only one of him and we desperately need more.

surprised subscription model was not mentioned once. Ads are not the only way to keep a platform profitable

(IMO), One day humans will grow-up and realize free speech and transparency are the most important pieces of human freedom.

Transparency is best, unless it's criticizing Tesla then you'll be banned

"Strict content moderation" ? Sounds like censorship to us.

Love the whole idea of Elon, except adding the edit button.. I wanna know what his insights about it. He just asked it but didn't present his opinion.. If it's free speech, it also should be REAL, and the edit button will just make it complicated..

The town square in real life has real life consequences. There is a difference between calling someone an idiot, and harassing someone else. Harassing someone because of disability, skin color, sexual orientation or gender. In the town square real life you get a fine. Or if you go around stalking someone else, bullying them and making their life miserable you get a large fine or go to jail. If we are talking about free speech, we should also talk about the real life consequences of the real life town square. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.
