How to calculate the total number of the usable host IDs?

Показать описание
Today my topic is how to calculate the total number of usable host IDs on a network if subnet mask is given. Any TCP/IP network has subnet mask, network ID, broadcast ID, and usable Host IDs. To calculate the total number of usable host IDs, we will use a simple formula. Understanding usable host IDs, subnet mask, broadcast ID is also the foundation for subnetting or subnetting a subnet.

This is my education channel. My topics cover networking, security, programming, and other computer-related materials.

Please subscribe my channel. Many thanks.

Thank you so much! I finished my Network Fundamentals Class, and then got Covid... so the longer I am away from reading and studying the more information gets dumped. So I have lost about 60% of what I learned and am reteaching myself after a month of recovery. Your video was so simplistic and on target that everything just started falling into place! Thank you!

Sunny, thanks my man! lol
I have a book, and other materials that I have bought to study, for my Network + Exam N10-008. Where I just needed a little bit more visual on (Calculating Host.) Your video, did the job!
Really, thank you for your efforts, and the time that you took to make this video. Much appreciated!!!

this is a lot easier to understand and attention grabbing than to read a text book (i guess its just my learning style)

Thank you sunny you are excellent. One question. Sometimes binary starts with 1 and ends with a max of 128. In this video it starts with 2 and goes to 256? Thank you

Thanks so much. I have a question if I may. In the formula h = 2^ - 2 where does the first 2 comes from? Is it because of binary or something?
