If you ever get stuck on the tracks in the US, do not stay in your car. At the intersection, there should be a blue sign with a number for the railroad that controls the section of track. Call them and explain the situation, they should be able to stop trains on that section of track and send someone to help. After calling, get away from the intersection, you don't want to be near your car if/when it gets hit.
