Overlooked Affordable Bug Out Locations
Bugging out is a last resort option but, if you have to do it, where will you go? Having a bug out location does not have to be expensive or hard to come by.

Preppers often desire an ideal bug out location with plenty of land for homesteading and an iron fortress of a structure. However, that remains out of reach for many of us who are not financially able to acquire such a SHTF retreat. Luckily there are a lot of other types of bug out locations that are often overlooked and affordable. They might not be the most ideal or perfect solution, but if you ever do need to bug out, you're better off having somewhere to go.

They offer real estate services in the Idaho/Montana region as well as consulting services regarding land acquisition specifically for preparedness purposes. Tell them Magic Prepper sent you!

Here are some links to websites that offer land at reasonable prices or with the possibility of owner finance. I have not used these sites and I am not a financial advisor so enter into any agreements at your own risk:

Hey man, you’re absolutely right about tax sales. However, I’m a loan originator, so I have a little more knowledge on this. Depending on your state, the tax sale can screw you. I’m in Louisiana, here, the original property owner who lost the property to a tax sale can recapture the property if they pay the back taxes. This applies After (keep that in mind) someone purchased the property in a tax sale. Basically, the original owner can pay the back taxes (in a 3 year period in LA) and recapture the property. So, if you buy a property in Louisiana in a tax sale, Don’t, I repeat, don’t upgrade/invest in the property until the 3 year period passes. Otherwise, you just paid for someone else’s renovation W/O any compensation. Just a heads up. Check with your local laws.

Excellent video! Something I did being a fisherman and spending a lot of time on the water, is buying a boat like a 27ft Catalina and renting a slip for about 200-300 a month to dock it. You get a place you could live if you needed to and park your vehicle with water and electricity (and they often have bathroom and shower facilities). I lived on a 37ft sloop rigged boat for about 8 years in San Diego, got the million dollar view without the million dollar price tag while in the Military. My boat payment was 525 (5 years) and slip was 300 plus electricity a month and the Navy was paying me 1100 to live off the ship! "Anchoring on the Ball" can bring the cost down considerably if your cool taking your dingy to the beach everyday as many marinas have Moorings available and a place to secure your dingy while at work.

THANK YOU. This is legit one of the most helpful vids you or any other prepping channel has ever done. In an extended SHTF scenario supplies will run out and then what? If you're not stacked for years however way you cut it you're options are to either become a looter or to have a self sustaining situation going on which involves having ownership of some land. I'll be checking out all the sites you linked. Thank you again dude!

A lot of folks think that when things get bad they're going to go out to the woods with their bug out bag and their truck and they're going to hunt deer and live off the land, millions of people have that same mindset, and then the Great depression game numbers were completely depleted and it took about 50 years of good management to bring wildlife back after all that, having a place to go and some food saved up already we'll save a lot of folks a lot of heartache.

Another gem, thank you for sharing on here with us, we're extremely low budget but we were able to find a small piece of rural land owner financed at a rate that we can afford, about a year after that we bought a cheap fixer upper camper and set that up out there too, we got lucky the few other people that live around us are all family friendly have kids and they're kind of like-minded.

I’ll fight to the death before I must bug out. I have bags ready, but being alone, I love these 4 walls.

Great ideas. A good bug out location will be one item many people will wish they had when things get hot in urban areas. Thanks for listing the links too.

I actually have the best of all possible bug out locations. I joined a sportsman's association in the most rural part of our state. Besides being stocked with fish and game, it has the facilities to an ideal BOL. It is surrounded by farms that we could work with to provide additional resources. I'm now looking at different types of insulated ice fishing tents that I can use as a four season shelter.

I’ve bought 3 pieces of land (WY, FL, TX) which I’ve found on these websites. Just make sure you find flat land, do your due diligence with Google maps, make sure there are no liens, get a legit agreement of sale, get title insurance for a larger purchase and a general deed. Many times the sellers use a licensed realtor (who can act as a dual agent). That provides some more security and transparency. Good luck!

My plan is to bunker in here on the farm.
But in the event I have to evacuate the area I have several older vehicles I can load up my stuff and get. I have a couple of family members living 500 miles north and 1100 miles west of me. Plus friends in between. But those are only last ditch options.
I am hoping to get an RV or a bus. Then I could have some amenities.

This is a great topic and one of the best videos you've ever made! Very few people are addressing this topic, and it's much needed.

Oddly enough, I have thought about most of these ideas, except the commercial property. Intriguing and affordable! Have family and friends in several locations in the Midwest. We are all prepping and networking with each other. Prepping to move if needed to each others locations. Also prepping our skill sets like mad men and mad women.
