Import Data into Microsoft Access from Microsoft Excel, CSV Files, and Fixed-Width Text Files

In this video, I will show you how to import data into Microsoft Access. We will see how to import Excel spreadsheets, CSV (Comma Separated Values) files, and fixed-width text files.

John from Coppell, Texas (a Developer Student) asks: I need to import a very large file that I received from a client. It's a fixed-width text file. How can I get that data into Microsoft Access?

One thing I want to ask, how to create like a template in access table field? due the data field i import from csv data is > 100 fields and need to replace everyday into the database (this condition make me need to set data tipe again while i import from CSV file into the access database)

I have an Excel file that has more than 255 fields. But, I only need certain fields. Is there a way to do that without manipulating the excel file?

Hi, Does anybody knows how to change the letters codification page to make the importation? I have some tables here but some letters are imported wrong. I need to change to some codification that accepts to portuguese letters. I would be glad if someone can help me. Thanks!
