Thank you for the absolute perfectly laid out review. Newbie’s can understand exactly what you’re driving at. Everyone should subscribe to your channel. It’s meat and potatoes and that’s what we all want to hear. Straight to the point with NO BS. I subscribed and you’re my go to for battery knowledge. Thanks again my friend. Great

I just threw out two Duracells out of a 511 Flashlight because they were leaking. This happens often with those batteries when in a flashlight for a short period of time. They are junk. They used to be quality cells but not anymore.

Ikea Ladda are amazing batteries for the price for AA/AAA.

I've ordered the batteries with the flashlight from manufacturer of the flashlights. So I or we may have limited choices. Most people are like, box store lights are good. But we flashaholics know different! Thanks Matt, and thank to all others for sharing good info!

I like when you do the "silly dance". You've done it in a few videos. It makes me laugh.

Orbtronic makes my favorite 16340 protected cells @ 880 mAh (which as far as I know is the highest rated on market?) And as far as a high drain, unprotected 16340 gos, I still reccomend and use the white Vapcell 800 mAh cells with a 7A discharge. Thanks

Dude you’re the ultimate nerd and your channel is great. You really should explore lasers a bit more. You would absolutely love them I swear to you! There’s a reason why they’ve changed the world in so many ways and are still very important in the science community. I liked modding and building custom flashlights, But geez man lasers are 10 times more fun and the two mix very well together. Love your channel!

Orbtronic 21700 is in all my 21700 lights except one of my Acebeams which came with an Acebeam 21700.

Orbtronic 18650 High Drain seems to work great. Their other "dual protection" 18650 is good but too long for some lights.

Samsung 30Q is my go to flat top 18650.

For 14500 my research led me to the KeepPower 800mAh protected and the purple Efest 650mAh unprotected. I looked for your favourite Windyfires but couldn't find them instock when I was looking a year so ago. My 18650's are all VT6C's so nothing new to add to your list. I'm not happy with any of the NiMH batteries I have and was going to replace them with Eneloops - I'll add Tenergy to the options list. I avoid alkalines because of the risk of leaking.

Just started watching information on the channel. Got caught up with Olight flashlights, and purchased a bunch of Tenergy rechargeable batteries when I figured out it would be better to run rechargeable than buying alkaline all the time. Still trying to figure out some of the different sizes & shapes, and the always mentioned protected vs. unprotected??
I need to start watching from the beginning, or indicate a baseline training video for the basics. Thanks.

What's the difference between protected and unprotected? What application are each for and not for?

Hello Matt, about the ONLY thing I know about electricity is that if you grab the wrong wire, you'll find out in a hurry😢. Thanks for the help you give🤗, as I'm needing batteries - 18650's (button and flat). If I remember to go to this, then great. I know about the mAh and what "protected" means😮. It's just a SCAM when 18650's are listed above 3??? mAh, right?🤬 Oh, when a light doesn't have included batteries, or say nothing more than 18650, 26650 etc., have you found what should/not be used in led lights?🤔 Should I only use slow discharge for lights and fast for vape mods? 🤔 Any advice on that, this is an issue and the best cheap place to get them. (For vape I currently use 2 Sony, not protected flat tops, which I've used for several yrs. without issues.) I do use a Nitecore charger, not the D2 but before it. I don't have the "lux" as you do, for sure! A "multimeter", come on, why won't they just tell you how many meters?🤣 Oh btw, I understand that if you have a lot of batteries, that'll mean "the big house"!🤣 Okay, I'll "ohm" it! Hey, have fun, be safe. Take care, "God Bless", sincerely Randy. 👍👍🙏😇👊
P.S.: Sorry if I've missed any vids on any of these!👊
