I had a massive heart attack and had open heart surgery bypassing 3 clogged arteries. 40% of the output mussel died. That happened in 2015 when I thought I was in great shape. Fast forward to 2021 ridding my bicycle everyday, but now know that I will not achieve the level of fitness as before, BUT I am fit and ride almost everyday with quarter mile sprints every now and then I am now 77 and going strong. Though I was eating a healthy diet and was, but I guess genetics had a part. My father and his father died of a heart attack. Mine happened nearly in front of the hospital and road my bike to the ER and walked in, 20 minutes later was in surgery and was out in 3 days, stay fit it helps. KMRC in Kingman AZ saved my life. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE YEARS TO COME.

Best (in-a-nutshell) post-MI pathophysiology explanation I’ve ever seen! I’m an RN who used to train Paramedics (back in the 80s, before electricity). I envy the people who are training and being trained in medical fields today—there’s so much great info and graphics available these days! We used to have to pull it out of our ...

I’m a med student and you just taught everything about MI that even my professors can’t explain effectively. Thank you very much for the great videos!😊

I’m so impressed with this totally insightful and helpful video. Thank you. My brother had a heart attack and now a month later he’s back in the hospital again.

At 37 years old, I had a stemi back in February. Thank God for collateral arteries. The ER wasn’t much help. They told me to calm down and that I was having a panic attack. When I said I think I’m having a heart attack, the ER (male) nurse says, “Fine, we’ll hook up the DAMN EKG to show you you’re not”. Things got moving pretty quick to the cath lab after that. EF is now 60 and I’m back to work.

I had a heart attack and stroke at age 36 (I'm 38 now) and I still deal with depression and debilitating anxiety that it will happen again. Everything you've said is true as well. I never took medications before, now I take about 7 different ones a day.

This is so important, but everyone needs to know how to help heart attack victims. The kiss of life thing doesn't come in to it these days, just the pressure on some ones heart is enough to inflate the lungs. and keep that person alive. The paramedics will take over when they arrive, but you will have saved a life, how cool is that.

You nailed it about the psychological healing, depression and family dealing with issue was very hard.

I don't know who you are but I just watched all the videos regarding MI. I am in school to become an RN. The whole department struggles. Primarily, due to teachers relying on the student to "Read the Book!!!" There is no teaching on the level that you have just shown. Everything I read, you detailed. It was fascinating. Thank you.

I had a heart attack 4 weeks ago, lucky for me it wasn't fatal. I have been a first aid person since I was 17 years old, I am now 62. That is a very long time but I still didn't recognise the symptoms in myself until more than 2 whole days later.

Great explanation. I had a hear attack about 12 months ago. I had no mental issue and I was confident that I will recover. There is a great improvement. I feel better healthwise after the attack then before. Good treatment, medicines, diet and exercise. But human being is lazy. I am not regular on exercise but my cardiologist is happy with my progress.
I wanted to know that weather damaged muscles do build up again. Your video helped me to understand lots of things. It has given me more confidence.

Your amazing videos have really helped me fully understand what happened to me 7 weeks ago. I love anatomy and physiology stuff so it really made sense to me. I played them to my partner so that he could also understand exactly what had happened... Thank you so much!
