In this video I'll get straight to the point and briefly show you how to quickly and easily disable (or adjust) the backlight on an MSI laptop.

The technique can be applied on several models of the same brand and generally on most laptops.

thanks for the video, for people who use a msi thin there are a few keys on the right side of enter and backspace (pgup and pgon) if you press fn and one of these keys it adjusts your brightness

If you're using MSI thin a15 or smh then press fn+f8 it will adjust the brightness of keyboard for you

On my MSi (Model: MS-17FS) laptop, this doesn't turn off the keyboard backlight; it magnifies the screen.
I had to use the Windows key in combination with the - and + keys to control the backlight.

This worked on my g75 stealth so I’m guessing this lil trick works with most msi laptops at least. Dude I hte backlit keyboards thank you so much

Hi, I have this problem that when i press a random key (for example Enter) the keyboard lights turn off. And then i need to look for a random key (for example Esc) to get the light back on again.
Then after a restart, i have the same problem only now the keys are changed. For example when i press "A" the keyboard light turns off, and when i press "B" it turns on again.
And sometimes "FN with plus/minus" doesnt work at all and im without keyboard lights for a few days until the lights randomly start working again..
Do you know what this problem is and how i can fix this ? I have a MSI GS76 STEALTH laptop

This only keeps the lights off until the laptop is rebooted. How do you keep them off permanently? It would be nice not to do this every time the laptop is booted.

So I have this issue where once I turn it off and then turn it back on the backlights aren’t already on the maximum. How do I make it so it is stays on?
