NeRF vs Gaussian Splatting comparison

This is a comparison of a NeRF (Neural Radiance Field) and Gaussian Splatting 3d reconstruction.
The NeRF was created using nerfstudio (nerfacto-huge model) and the Gaussian Splatting was reconstructed with the original implementation from Inria.
#NeRF #gaussiansplatting #photogrammetry

Gaussian Splatting screencaptured in realtime using Aras' package for Unity.

Gaussians look better, yet they lack the same level of flexibility. NeRFs offer the advantage of allowing adjustments to lighting within a scene, including the ability to cast shadows. Thanks for the vid!

All that moving around makes the detail differences hard to notice.
the training and rendering times alone would always make me choose gaussian splatting.

What was your capture method? This is definitely one of the cleanest ones I've seen.

"I watched your video it's great!! and I have a question. Did you record the dataset for your NeRF model by taking a video while rotating 360 degrees around the subject? Or did you use a different method? I'm asking because the one I made looks very messy

gaussian splatting more detailed but nerf more consistent
