To find the answer- using algebra, send 'y' to LHS and 'x to RHS.
If 'x' is negative then it means m is -1, since y=mx+b where 'm' is the coefficient of 'x' and if m is negative then it means that the slope (m) is negative. The correct answer is (b), on separating LHS and RHS you get y = x -1, here 'x' is positive hence it must have +1 as its coefficient thus have a positive slope.
(note: firstly plug the values of x and y to make sure that the term is defined for the given values)

wait the second example is wrong the y intercept is 1 not -1 in the equation
