I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage. Got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

Not diagnosed but entire weekends go by just staring at my phone. I get as far as my first cup of coffee and sit on couch to check news on phones and that's it. Stuck in a procrastination loop with a weird guilty feeling for the whole weekend.

I literally go on dopamine hunts - it's not healthy. Shopping, sex, alcohol, cannabis, attention by annoying people, stimulus with intellectual arguments or challenges. Normal becomes excruciatingly boring and so painful. My brain works faster than other people's and flits quickly between topics and its frustratingif people are slow. I'm clever but always looking for stimulation. The life of an adult woman with adhd lol 😂 Medidation helps and high dosage CPD seems to help.

Dude, Andrew thankyou heaps for this, sometimes it's hard to find people who really understand the causes and effects so living with adhd can feel like impossible or your closed off to help but the justification of things that make sense for me everyday is super comforting, would be incredible to properly conversate with you .

What’s funny is that ADHD can also have many of the same characteristics as unhealed childhood trauma as well. It can be hard to tell them apart.

I went on a very strange trip searching for Dopamine I guess. For about 2 weeks, I was obsessed with pens, paper and journals. I bought many fountain pens, journals and inks. The boxes arrived and I got my fix.

A couple months have gone by…I have not written a single sentence with my fancy pens and notebooks. I never will.

This was so strange and I realized it. Now, I look at my pens and paper…what the f was I thinking?!?

Turns out this was yet another one of my many interests that is like a drug at first but my brain adjusts and it’s over. I tell myself…at least you acknowledge it! That’s a good sign. Now, what?

Most of this checks out anecdotally but sugar is a no go for my children who have ADHD, it definitely puts them on an emotional roller coaster. Quite the opposite with food actually, we found that our children are more focused and adhd symptoms seem to subside more with sustained blood sugar levels (ie, no processed/refined carbs).

'Not anything that I didn't already know, BUT this is great for demonstration/explaination purposes for the layman.

Cold shower is het answer for dopamine. The dopamine rush is 2, 5 above baseline. The same als cocaine. But the major different is that you have that rush for 3 hours ❤

I see you made the video short for us with that short attention span 😁

imho it should be renamed to something like low dopamine syndom. so it makes it more clear and it sounds like something people would take more serious. with adhd people are just like "oh so you are a hyperactive kid who cant focus"

I heard dopamine is too easy to access nowadays in 2022 and that is the problem. I think and heard that dopamine is ok to go for if you are doing work or effort to get it...example...you get dopamine after finishing a project or if you are doing exercise and burning fuel...then dopamine rush is fine. I like to get my adrenaline rush and dopamine from downhill mountain biking...when you get to the bottom of the mountain with your body intact and the bike is ok....what a feeling but that is because you accomplished something while moving your body so that part can't be so bad.

"In today's video, I learned I need to be on crack."👍

Seriously, though, what do we do about this?

the not becoming hyperactive after consuming high levels of sugar makes more sense now

This was so accurate. I used to drink like 8 coffees and smoke a pack of cigarettes a day.

I always asked my why then they don't just give somebody who is suspicious having adhd not just give a adreall and see if he or she is calmer afterwards.
Especially because a lot of psychological test do not dedect adhd although somebody has this disorder.
