The goal to reaching 1K subs is like a dream come true in a way, but furiously obsessing it and not expecting it to be a marathon for most people is why too many people give up. If you have the passion to keep posting regardless of how the results are and knowing your videos will be good in the long run as you looked back and know how much you've improved, you are many steps closer to reaching that goal.

Honestly, collaborators of a much more successful channel similar to yours and catching their eye helps you that much more. I would say the key word is EXPOSURE and then the viewers notice you from there.

The bigger the numbers, the more inclined they are to watch I feel -- and NOT just the thumbnail, that's what catches my eye. Hate to say it. Good luck reaching 1k everyone (with LOYAL audiences 😊).
