I’m Australian but was brought up by my parents to properly enunciate when talking and use proper grammar, they both have much more refined Australian accents because they were also brought up to speak “proper”, as a result when we moved from a big city to a smaller country town where people’s accents were thicker, some other kids genuinely thought I was British because of my accent, even though I was born and raised in Australia to 2 english speaking white Australians. Think like Cate Blanchett type of Australian accent.
