At the moment it's 200 to 1 thumbs up. This project and its presentation deserve that rating. I thank you for demonstrating how best to deal with the biggest problem of round column mills.

Nice work Matty... I like what you said "It's the best I can do right now" there speaks a man who's constantly improving... See you on the next one...

I think that's the best fix I've seen so far! I'm going to try and make one. Thanks

Great job Matty. I don’t think it moved at all when you raised and lowered it. I’m going to have to redo mine now. I like that you can adjust the pressure on the bushing also. That’s the best improvement I’ve seen so far for the round column problem.

Well it looks like you gotter licked! 😊 I wouldn't sweat doing stuff off camera, sometimes the camera just takes the fun out of it (although I wouldn't have minded seeing some shaper vs. delerin 😉). The attachment looks very sleek, like it was like that from factory. Great job, Matty! Cheers! 👍😁👍

Nice explanation, presentation and nice design approach. Your solution has something others don't; compactness. Others take scads of space, making them intrusive, huge in dimension, and then, considering the size of the contraption, not very rigid. Your approach if it was beefed up a bit more would still be very reasonable yet there would be significant rigidity.

Hi Matty, thanks for the design. I was thinking getting a mill/drill with round column but issue was the head movement when milling. This design surely overcomes that. The workspace is far more than a normal knee mill.

G'day Matty. That was an excellent solution to a difficult problem mate. Much better than the rod idea. Just like the Aussie movie "The Castle", you're a real ideas man Matty. Cheers, Aaron.

Gday Matty, that looks good mate, i wish i bought the round column sometimes, i like that you can move the head around for them awkward drilling jobs.

I didn't think the paint was tacky, it's a great blue :) As for .002, that's nothing to sneeze at. Forget to clamp the knee on a Bridgeport and you're out that much. Nice fix!

Nice work Matty, 1.5 thou is not bad at all. I was thinking about your plastic bushing, and the two adjustment holes - you could add tapped holes above and below for one of them, on the back one maybe. This would replace the single central hole, meaning you have good three point contact on the straight piece, it should hold on to it better with less play. Think of using a thumb and two fingers to hold something instead of a thumb and one finger.

Not perfect? Everything you do is perfect! You're not a factory for God's sake. I saw those oil cans you made for Christmas presents! I finally got a piece of aluminum pipe to try and copy your design. I was impressed!
