The trick is to wait for about 10 minutes before wiping flat. The mud has stopped out gassing and there will be no more bubbles.

This is how to do it . No cheating when going over paint it’s like doing three coats anyway . I usually keep a empty bucket if a I have a lot of patches because after skimming tight the mud gets clumpy and will frustrate you .
