Broad beans were the 1st thing I grew in my veg garden. I have fond memories of sitting at my nans kitchen table popping open the pods and trying to get the most beans in a pod. I do the same thing with my kids now

This might sound goofy, but I have pretty bad anxiety that gets much worse in winter, and your videos help me relax probably more than anything else on Earth. Just thinking about getting back in my garden and listening to your easygoing but encouraging voice is just lovely. Thank you for doing this!

I'm an American (Ohio - Zone 6b) and I love how you say vegetable names. I love watching content like this. I already planted my onion and leek seed indoors. I signed up for your growveg planner. Love it! That planning software even impressed my engineer boyfriend!

What fun to get going with February seed starting :) One trick you might want to try (I'd love to give credit for this one, but can't remember where I learned this!) is planting the peas into lengths of plastic guttering that may be left over from a gutter install. Cut the guttering lengths to about 18", fill with 2-3" deep of potting mix and plant the peas into the gutter. You can tape a bit of plastic wrap at the ends to keep the soil from falling out the ends. When it's time to plant outside, make a trench the same length of the guttering and then gently slide the whole length of the sprouted seeds and their seed mix right into the trench. No need to disturb the roots :) It's better to have 12-18" lengths of the guttering to make sliding the material into the trench a little easier. Hope you have fun with this.

Question: Can you do a video about small greenhouse chores and management? Not so much about the plants but keeping it tidy. For instance when watering your seedlings and growing veggies, the mess it leaves behind and how you clean it up to prevent excess algae and molds building up, disease prevention, air circulation, temperature ect. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated! Thanks for all the videos you do they are so much help and always a good review every season!

I really like these videos about what to grow during a certain month. It just makes it easier for my brain to wrap around some possible options, and also serves as a reminder! Plus you weave in general tips effortlessly! We are almost done clearing out our garden in prep for the growing season, but thankfully we had finished our greenhouse months ago! (also at 10:19 those variegated leaves, they sort of look like nasturtium leaves? Or maybe something related, what are they?)

I’m in zone 9b in south Texas. Sowing has commenced in earnest! Praying we don’t get a surprise frost before March. After that we should be good to go!

Hi Ben, I’ve never really grown any beans other than Broad beans but would like to experiment this year with dwarf French beans and possibly also runner beans.

Would you be able to make a video on the best way to grow each type please, including how much space they need and the best way to support them? I have limited space so it would be good to see which type yields the most produce for the space.

Can’t wait for spring! 😊

sowing peas works fine in smaller tray cells. Their roots are strong and drop nicely into a no-dig plot. cover with thermacrop covering to protect from any frost and they thrive here in the UK
