The only genre (solo) of games worth the money. The only ones that won't sit endlessly on your shelf of shame. No need to wait for someone willing to play.

I think Warp's Edge is an absolutely excellent design.
I just wish there was a fantasy version.

I do recommend trying Desolate, Gate/s, Tin Helm. Some of the Game Crafter games (most notably Jason Glover's solo games) occupy a space of their own. DustRunner will be going to crowd sale in a few days (Mad Max themed solo tin game). Apparently Buried Beneath is good (co-op expansion is on crowd sale too). These games provide a high return for low investment (time, space, theme, mechanics etc)

I grabbed Resist! on the second hand market when the campaign was delivered. Happy to see that it gets so much praise now.

Friday is a fun game I still play from time to time.

I’m hoping to get the expansion for Warp‘s Edge soon. I enjoy it a lot, and now even more after watching your last playthrough and discovering some gameplay errors on my side. 😂

My personal favorites are also
Hunted Kobayashi Tower and
Hunted Mining Colony 415.
These are really nice small box games that I’m enjoying a lot for their theme and fun push your luck mechanics.

I’m also missing Grove on the list. My most played solo game of 2022.

But it’s really amazing to see how many great solo only games are now available. 🥰

It's interesting to me that though you've obviously played very complex games your list has lots of very approachable entries that are easy to get to the table. This has become important to me over the years, accessibility and fun are at least as important as innovative or crunchy mechanics IMO. Great list!

Just the list I was looking for! My favorite game to play solo is Arkham Horror Card game with two decks. I know it's not solo only, but it's the only game I've found that feels like a good CCG that I can play solo. I'm looking into Hadrian's Wall for a solo engine builder.

I'm very late to this great video! One recommendation I have is PnP only. A Rusty Throne. Its a solo area control game with a vague Game of Thrones feel. Only one sheet for the map and 18 cards so a very simple PnP for anyone to make. It's a simple clean little game with lots of choices to make and I love it.

UFS is my favorite game and in general our tastes converge. Warps Edge, Eila also wanted to play, but hasn't found it yet.

Wonderful list. I can think of a few that would be on my list (Infection: Humanity's Last Gasp comes to mind), but this is solid. Hoplomachus Victorum would easily be my #1. I love that game so much.

Very solid list of games.
I only play solo games but can't get into Final Girl or Warps Edge.
I have been playing Hoplomachus Victorum and would consider it my number one right now.

Another solo resistance game, from the publishers of Black Sonata is Maquis. I assume you haven't played it but if you have, WHERE WAS IT!? lol
A fun little card game is Arkham Noir. Might not have make it into anyone's top 20, but I like it a lot, even if I can't beat it.

Great looking compilation, Mike. I only have Resist and also waiting for Northwood.
Was thinking of a few other games, but then realised that, like Warfighter for example, it's only a solo game for Paulinopals! 😂😂
