A decade of baking bigger and bolder with home bakers like you!

I’ve been fortunate to share my bold baking style with millions of fans on television and online: Netflix’s “Nailed It!”, Food Network’s “Best Baker in America”, "Baker's Dozen" on Hulu, and segments produced for "The Today Show".

This channel, my website, and my two cookbooks all build on my career as a professional chef, which has seen me work in every kind of baking setting you can imagine – from a rundown Tuscan villa, to an Irish priory, to a Michelin-starred restaurant. I’ve had to become creative, imaginative, and bold…and that’s what I want to bring to every one of my “Bold Bakers"!

This is great! I am lactose intolerant, I can use lactose free milk to make condensed milk myself! I love ice cream!

I used to live in a country where it was easy to get and cheap. Now I'm living somewhere where it's almost impossible to find and horrendously expensive when you do! So a big thank you from me for your great video.

I’m making this today just to pour in a cup of coffee. I’ve halved the recipe: 1 cup of milk + 1/3 cup of sugar. It’s currently simmering and has about 10-15 minutes left. It smells amazing! 😍

Update: Oh my God, Gemma! That’s the best thing I have ever put in my coffee in all my life. Used full fat, organic milk and good quality sugar. Thank you!

I wasn't expecting the jug to be that small XD haha

If your milk isn't changing colour or thickening after an hour, try adding half a teaspoon baking soda, that did the trick for me

I have been watching this video over and over and over again, procrastinating over whether I should make it or not. I get this idea in my head that it won't come out right. (forgetting all I need is milk and sugar..LOL) When I made it I was so astonished. It was very easy and very tasty. I didn't even need to use it in any of my cooking because it is great by itself(i know this may be bad..but come on can you blame me :) Thanks Gemma!

For those with sweet tooth: Cut banana lengthwise (like banana split), then bake or grill it until golden brown. Put on a plate, then drip sweet condensed milk on top, add chocolate sprinkles. Heaven!

I tried this with coconut milk at home and it came out perfectly well! I could tell because it looked just the way you'd described it (light brown, thick, reduced in volume by half, exactly 8 fl oz) and my dessert (in which I used this finally) turned out delicious :) Thanks for this useful recipe! It's easier than I had imagined!

Guys don't worry if the final product seems too runny. When you refrigerate it over night it'll have the right color and consistency :)

It finally worked! After the third try it finally thickened after an hour and a half!

I'm starting to learn on how to make more things at home before I become a stay at home parent, recently made peppermint mocha creamer for the first time(we go through $50 of this creamer a month) and was curious if I could just make the condensed milk for the creamer at home, thus me being brought here! This video was very helpful and simple to the point, your channel is neat too!

This is excellent. This was also my first time trying it, actually, my first time trying to make any kind of dessert except for a cake/brownie out of the box. I'm trying to make a dessert that calls for sweetened condensed milk, and of course I don't have any.
The one thing I would want to add to Gemma's advice; if you have a flat-top stove make sure your pan sits flat and not able to wobble around as mine did. I was so tempted to stir the milk because the simmer point in my pan was restricted to a very small area while the rest of the milk was not at a small simmer. By the time I noticed that was happening it was too late to switch pans. I never noticed how some of my pots and pans weren't totally flat until I got that stove. :)
