4:56 YES, that actually so true. One of the main themes in hxh is about taking all the detours and this also reflects how togashi writes the story. Even in heavens arena arc gon and killua didnt finish the last floors because they already got what they wanted and so they moved on. Its not about the destination its about the journey. Cheesy as it sounds hxh is literaly the only shonen manga ive seen do this and have such an organic feel to it.

The way Togashi suddenly stops an arc to go into another is one of the main things that make HxH the best manga. It's never predictable, it's never stale, and it ends up feeling like more organic, human transitions instead of the super defined and textbook transitions between arcs happen in literally all other manga that you can see coming from miles away.

whenever togashi writes a political arc he leaves gon out. election arc, u are spot on its not on character for gon to deal with political affairs, but if his friends find themselves in danger i think he will go help in anyway he can

regardless of many people’s negative opinion on gon because he became ‘unstable’, I think that it should’ve been expected do to his large emotions he carried towards all of his friends. I would love to see either a time skip where gon returns even stronger and reaches the dark continent or just the inclusion of gon in future chapters, he’s the main character in my eyes and has made hunter hunter what it is.
