Awful part is we're just getting started, too late to reverse the changing climate now.

It is too late..this is the consequences of rapid industrialiazation and advance modern8zation. Plant more trees for shades, build more dams, store more water from rain. The climate temperature will continue to rise in the future we cant control it or prevent it . Have your own airconditiining to prevent heat stroke.

I got a mild stroke due to the heat few weeks back. I'm just blessed that I went to the doctor the right time. If I came in too late, something serious might have happened. My recovery took a week. I felt so weak, light headed and my left part of the body kinda feels dropping. I am now always cautious with the environment and even the food I eat. I usually don't use my AC but due to what happen I use it now 6 hours during the day and 6 at night.

Singapore getting hotter is triggered by Government policy of coverting Forrest, turf, grass pitches n cutting down big trees to cater for housing for foreigners they imported.
The used of aircon further aggravated the Singapore environmental temperature.

SG government isn't doing anything useful to reduce temperatures, only telling people to take preventive measures to prevent heat-related health problems and not addressing root causes. With cutting down huge trees and forests for buildings and housing, trying to create green spaces and planting trees from scratch are like putting a plaster on a huge open wound. Money, housing, economy and political legitimacy are what the SG government are more concerned about, not the environment. There comes a time when having too much (too much money and too much stuff) is more detrimental than good, and that time is now.

Individuals can only try to do so much to reduce carbon footprint. The ones that are capable of effecting real change is the government, MNCs, huge organisations and corporations, and people of money and power.
