Dude I was just like you those 4 weeks of training were killer. I remember we went 5 days without a shower which was disgusting. After I finished I said to myself NO team driving for me lol. My trainer also took his 30 minute breaks on the fuel isle which is a no no.

Get yourself with another trainer. Never ever go without a bath and a good hot meal. He's not giving you sound training!

I've noticed not to always expect professionalism in truckdriving. There's a lot of alpha wannabes in the industry. It's similar to construction or any other male dominated industries. Ask a question twice because you forgot something and you might get cussed out. It's absolutely stupid but that's how some of these biker-type people operate.

I just got back from my second week too. If they don’t give me a new trainer, I’m leaving 😂 Driving half awake is not safe. Not for you, not for others. It’s illegal, and stupid af

Trainers dont care about training. They are selfish and lack character. They want to run u ragged and sleep when they should be next to u, watching u drive. The system needs to be overhauled.

I wouldn’t do it if I can’t get my sleep. By Sleeping its the only way to continue going marathon style without burning out. Glad to hear you left that trainer.

Sleep in the top bunk, have an accident or fall out of a moving truck. And watch how insurance will wash their hands of you, because you shouldn't have been in the top bunk of a moving truck.

You shouldn’t be on top bunk while truck is moving and showers are needed daily most every other day

Sounds like you had my trainer just had 2 showers in 4 weeks and yeah the problem is they aren't paid to train they are paid for your miles so they are collecting their check and is while we get like 2 dollars an hour for training pay i don't know how i was trained from the back seat sleeper with the curtains closed we did almost 90 down hills in the 55 but even scarier for me was going through GA on backroad winding roads in 45-55 mph zones doing 70 in the pitch black of the night and yeah i don't think they realize their sleep in the bottom doing the speed limit is not the same as sleeping way up top where not only is their speed amplifying everything but the top is swinging back and forth way more that high up I compared it to sleeping in the dryer

I have experienced all the things you listed. Most people can't sleep in a moving truck.

i'll never do team driving after my 4 weeks of sleep deprived training. i slept on the top bunk and we didnt really have a set sleep schedule. i actually wasn't nervous when he drove while i tried sleeping. what bugged me the most was the constant bumps, rumbling and being tossed back and forth, while i tried to sleep. i had 10 hours to sleep and i used all of it just trying to get enough sleep while he drove. he was a good trainer, just the sleep part was horrible

The same thing happens to me at TMC and when I was on my 3 week and when I complain to him he waited until Friday to drop me off the truck and then he talks to to the drivers manager and they left me go to me those trainer don't teach you nothing and they treat you like

I just tried to train someone and I realized it’s not for me . I only did 2 weeks of training and went on my own. Thank god that the company I work for let me do that. Right now I tried to train a guy and it was a disaster for me … and it was a friend of mine so I feel bad I took him off my truck… but it’s for the best of the both of us. Not everyone is good at training I just realized that . Lol . So get yourself a new guy and someone that can actually do the job.

How can he be training you if he's sleeping.
Sounds like you're company got them a free driver for a week. You need to find one that wants more than a seat warmer. It takes experience to handle a seat and that's what the trainer is supposed to provide. Your gonna see a "highway closed ahead
USE ALT ROUTE" and nowhere to pull over to plan one and you better know how to deal in with whatever on the road you decide to turn on. I "think" I can make it is NOT the right answer It takes at least a year to be confident in your abilities and to know when you need to just stop and call the highway patrol and say I can't do this I need an officer to come and assist me. Better than being on the 5 o'clock news because you got wedged under a bridge blocking traffic to the Salt Lake City international Airport for 3 hours while a news chopper flew around showing everyone your company logo bigger than Dallas on the side of your trailer. And you'll be on YouTube forever LOL

If he's going down a mountain at 85mph on a 55mph mountain. QUIT!! IMMEDIATELY! That job isn't worth your life. There's CDL jobs everywhere. That isn't worth your life or the cars around you. He should be fired immediately.
