This scene made me cry my eyes out. For some reason this movie made me feel such a strong connection with V and seeing him die was heartbreaking.

I watched this movie two days ago, and I'm still emotionally recovering from this very scene. I haven't had a film do this to me in a while. This is in my top five favorite movies of all-time!

Something that was not covered in the film, and only subtly covered in the comics, was that *V* always knew he would never live to see the revolution he worked towards to fruition; thus his (film) line of, _"We're both about to die, "_ with his confrontation with Creedy the previous scene. *V* was _DYING_ from the results of the horrific human experiments performed on him and others at the Larkhill "Resettlement" Camp (aka extermination camp); despite his enhanced physical & mental abilities (unforeseen side-effects from the experiments), *V* lived in constant pain and knew his lifespan was on a short timer.

In truth, *V* should have expired (died) shortly after he destroyed Larkhill, but his burning Vendetta, and sheer force of will, kept him going for *_>years<_* after Larkhill, in order to bring Vengeance upon the monsters wearing human skins and masks (pun intended) of "righteousness"; as well as to topple a wholly malevolent governmental regime.  But *V* also knew that afterwards, when his Vendetta was finally complete, he could not last any longer, not even for Evey. :(

WTF, why people here are wondering about age difference between V and Evey? It does not matter here. And yes, I cried during watching this scene. I cry everytime I see it.
