Good video on how to enable SMB/CIFS in a Ubuntu LXC container.

I think that's really only needed if the host for the Windows Share is on a Windows system/VM of some kind.

For everything else (that sits on a NAS that runs, most likely, Linux), I just use NFS because it is vastly easier and faster to set up.

Was able to do this with a jellyfin container last year, now all of a sudden I'm getting a "This program is not installed setuid root - "user" CIFS mounts not supported." error everytime I run mount -a

Hi Brilliant solution. I want to do the same with Jellyfin. However when you start to edit smb and cifs, and you start the lxc i open the the shell mine remains blank screen

I am running Proxmox 8.2.7 and for some reason I can't open the console to any privileged LXC. Is this happening to anyone else? It's not the CT template because it works just fine if it is a non-privileged LXC.

Very good video!! BTW if you have a 24H2 PC handy it might be worthwhile checking if you can access the samba shares in the local network without a problem, because i have found that with 24H2 i cannot access samba shares. like for example from a raspberry pi running OMV and i have not as yet found a way to correct this...
