I use Mobil 1 15w-50 for the most part. I’ve used castrol and liquid moly though. The 15w-50 is reasonable at walmart and meets the specs.

If you Mix oils You should Always use Peanut or Coconut oil for that Extra Fragrance..

The only thing I tend to stay away from is an oil with friction modifiers when working with wet clutches. Otherwise having oil is better than not.

Regular vs Synthetic oil: From my understanding. Syntech oil is better if you ride aggressively, or in bad conditions ( very cold starts, very hot weather, sandy or dusty environement) or for very extended period of time maybe during long trips adding extra miles before the recommanded oil change period. . For regular riding, if the oil is changed regularly within the recommanded mileage, I think it’s a waste of money to go synthetic... I could be wrong. Maybe synthetic is better for engine longevity... maybe it’s the same. Let me know

I use diesel oil with 5% palm oil since years ago to all my gasoline engine. Great shear stability and cleaner intenal part.

If you are going to have to use vegetable cooking oil, make sure it's from Waitrose and not some cheap cr*p from the corner shop! :-)

actually, add cooking oil as addtive for engine oil is makes only better. it cleans sludge, carbon from engine internals, and can withstand much much much much higher flash point than ANY engine oil
