The Ranger gets some stance! Installing front lowering springs 1992 302 V8 Ranger

Moser gives the ranger a better stance by lowering the front with "3 inch" lowering springs to remove the rear rake that it had after adjusting the leaf springs on the rear end. The truck looks much better now but it was certainly not a 3" drop. Installing the springs is pretty simple, just disconnect the shock and pull down on the hub to remove the old springs!

I would’ve used spring compressors and cut the coil spring if I’m just tossing them.

I recently bought a 1990 Ranger, very similar to this one and I'd really like to know what the wheels came from and when you lowered it did you have any issues with the tires rubbing anything? I was thinking about the I-beam method to drop the nose and will figure out the rear when I get to that point. But, I really want to use an OEM wheel.

Only about 140lb diff between the 4cyl and a 302 v8.

302 V8? Smoke the wheels off the back. Did you put the 302 in there? Bet it sounds good. I have 4.0 v6 in mine but want to put a 5.0 cobra in it. Don’t if it’s possible.

FYI a 302 is only 50 lbs more than the 2.3 ( 410 vs 460 lbs ).

You didn't put the spring back in the top spring pocket right, there is a notch in the top for the end of the spring to sit up into, that's why you're not getting your full drop

You need to get lowering i-beams to do the job right. Lowering the springs throws your wheel alignment off.

Of course it will seem high in the front when you first install lowerimg springs. They settle after you put some miles on them.
