This gravesite belongs to a very famous person in American history, but you would never guess that, based on this person's, almost invisible, headstone. Can you guess who it belongs to?

The movie The Founder gives a pretty good account of how Ray Kroc basically maneuvered the McDonald brothers out of their own business.

You would think McDonald's headquarters would part with enough cash to have his headstone replaced with something more dignified.

Thanks for sharing Steve. One of the things I’ve noticed about flat headstones like that in general is that overtime they have a tendency to lose their luster. I like to walk around cemeteries myself and just to be nice, I might clean off headstones that are dirty and maybe even make small repairs to ones where a peice fell off, but it is still difficult to make out the inscription on many of the older flat ones because of the elements over the years.

Hi Steve, Andy from the UK here. Thanks so much for highlighting this grave stone. As you say, nobody has probably heard of him but most would have eaten in the restaurants. I think I prefer it like it is instead of an all shouting headstone. Would be nice for the writing to get updated mentioning the fact he's was co-founder and make it clearer to read. Really appreciate you bringing attention to it for all us who can't get there. Hope your well and keep up the good work ❤👍

Michael Keaton did a great job of playing Ray Kroc in the movie based on his life. The movie also sheds a lot of light on the McDonald's brothers. The movie depicts Kroc of having literally taken the name and the franchise from the brothers.
Ray was a shark. One of his quotes, "If you see your competition drowning, through them a garden hose. The McDonald brothers learned that firsthand.

I'm actually sitting in McDonald's right now in England and happily stuffing my face with a Big Mac 😊

That is a shame the letters fade out like that. I'm glad someone brought him flowers 💐 Thanks Steve 😊

The movie The Founder with Michael Keaton really spotlighted the McDonald Brothers. I have more appreciation for them and what they created than what Ray Kroc stole from them!😢

With all the money McDonalds has, it sure would be nice of them to fix it.

If they just knew how to market! They came up with the idea, but Ray Kroc knew how to market. I wished that they were treated better. Thanks for the vlog, I wondered what happened to the brothers.

I also find it amazing how some huge celebrities have simple stones. And on other end you have a reclusive actors like Frances Beaver who wanted nothing to do with people after she retired. Has a huge standup headstone that stands out from the others ? Still yet some people simply don't want any headstone at all ?

Thanks for the history lessons and keeping alive the memory of folks that might be otherwise forgotten.

Graveyards are full of forgotten folks. A fancy stone or statue just gives pigeons something to defecate on!
