yeah but with CDs you get a ton of album art, lyric sheets and honestly great quality; i've put some CDs into my xbox and the music quality is really good.

CDs also have some of the best quality out there. It's sometimes better than downloading FLAC files off Bandcamp or something (sometimes it has a lower bitrate than a direct rip from a CD)

i prefer physical media. if a song, album etc. ever gets deleted/removed off of a streaming service or digital purchasing platform, you will still have a physical copy. something happens to your hard drive or computer, whether it breaks or gets stolen? your music is fine - you have a physical copy. you can rip cds as many times as you want and you can choose the audio quality when you rip. there are also ways to rip vinyls but its a little more hands on than cds (it's still possible tho). plus you get additional album artwork with physical media which might enhance your experience with it. also some cds and vinyls may even have exclusive tracks you can't find anywhere else! i started collecting vinyls this year and i found on one of the vinyls i bought a song that i had NEVER heard before from the band and couldn't find any info about online. i thought it was so neat - felt like i had found some sort of secret treasure. i do understand digital media is convenient - i have a spotify account and everything but... idk man. i believe in physical media supremacy.

Reason 3 is probably that creating physical media is expensive. If you buy a CD, it's more expensive and the profit margin is probably smaller. With digital, Apple takes 30% for iTunes, I think Bandcamp only takes like 10%, and the rest is all profit. I've been buying music for a while, I would highly recommend that others consider buying as well, it's really not expensive, but the artist makes so much more than from streaming.

I buy digital releases off of Bandcamp, but I still prefer compact cassettes. When I buy a digital release I usually dub it onto a fresh cassette tape.

unfortunately i will not buy anything digitally, except for steam games. I bought minecraft years ago and nearly lost it because i wasnt active back when everyone needed to switch their account, and if you dont switch your account you'd lose the game. I'm not buying music online for that same reason. Buying something should mean you own it and can't lose it.

I have the full available discographies of Kobaryo and Feryquitous digitally off of Bandcamp and I'm glad I can support some of my favorite artists and have the songs I love in FLAC

CD has great quality as well, I prefer CD because you can rip the files and then have a digital copy basically identical to what you would get from buying digitally on top of also having it physically.

Buying a cd and then ripping that onto your computer is the best way to keep things you own imo
