In this video I show you how to replace the standard stock fans in a Ubiquiti UniFi
USW-Pro-24 PoE Gen2 Network Switch with 2 Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM fans which results in the terrible high pitched whine being eliminated by replacing them with the near silent Noctua fans.

Thanks for the video, very helpful indeed. I purchased and replaced mine straight after seeing your video, and couldn’t be happier. Really in love with my switch again. One note to anyone who is planning to replace the fans though, don’t be alarmed when connecting the Noctua fans connectors to the switch’s board if you find out the notches on the connectors do not align with connectors base. Just gently pry the base lip and push the connectors in and you should be good to go. At first, I was alarmed that I perhaps bought the wrong model when found out this, and had to zoom in to video at the frame when connecting the connectors which turned to be exactly the model I purchased.

Again, thank you for the video. Great job.

Thanks very much for taking the time to put this explanation together - it was exactly what I needed - hugely appreciated!

Did this replacement today with the Enterprise 24 PoE. Everything worked out fine. I only had zo modify the headers of the noctua extension cables with a cutter because they don't fit otherwise. Temps are the same but much quiter. Thx

Thanks Tim! my USWP 24 is much quieter now. Thumbs up!

Thanks so much for this. My USW-Pro-24-POE is so noisy I assumed it was faulty, but perhaps not. It's only 2 months old, so reluctant to mess with it too much but maybe it is worth it. Why can't Ubiquiti use better fans I do not know!

Currently thinking about switching to Noctuas as well but I’m not really bothered by the sound. I’d add a splitter and use 2 fans at the top of my rack as an exhaust and the switch is the only thing with a fan connector near that

Thanks for the video. Is fan replacement an ongoing issue with this device, or are you just showing this as a 'just in case' kind of thing?

Nice walkthrough 👍
Did you experience a "much" higher temperature and what is your subjective noise improvement?

I have one of those. Never noticed any fan sounds and I have 13 POE cameras hooked up to it. Hmmm… I’ll take a listen next time. Prolly drowned out by my TruNas server that sits right below it.

Was there any warranty seal or anything that would indicated it had been opened if you had to reverse this and have it serviced by Ubiquiti?

Great tutorial. Why did you use the NF-A4x20 PWM versus NF-A4x20 FLX? Do you know the difference between the two?
