The Oklahoma City Thunder are LEGIT title contenders, probably the best team in the entire league, and every single stat, advanced analytic, and eye test metric you can use tells you that’s true

But… the NBA doesn’t seem to respect them

Despite being talented, fun to watch, great on both sides of the ball

The NBA is just not afraid of the Thunder

So why is that… well I am going to tell you, and I am going to tell you why the NBA is simply wrong

My thing with point #2 is this: everyone basically creates for each other. There really isn't a need for a 2nd option when the scoring is so balanced. This team playmakes as an entire unit. They're able to find open shooters like Joe, Wiggins, and Caruso. They can cut into the paint behind the defense. They hardly run ISO when SGA is off the floor. They play like a cohesive unit who are working together to get open shots. If they wanted, they can run an 11 man rotation through the playoffs.

JDub Last 22gm before injury- 23ppg 5.1reb 5.5ast 1.6stl .8blk 2.1TO 2threes 48/39.5/80.3 splits and he is an All-Defense candidate. Slump in December and early January but otherwise he’s been great all year ppl gotta stop hating on him. The amount of ppl who think Evan Mobley is way better than JDub is wild asf. He’s actually been better than Jaylen Brown this year better efficiency, advanced stats, playmaking and defense

2024 playoffs okc bench played decent but no one steped up, thats why mavs kept coming back when chet, shai, and jdub were resting, but I do think this year the bench are stepping up aaron wiggins, isaiah joe, jwill, kenrich williams are having confidence, adding caruso and hartenstein are BIG difference, I would say they are going far this year

I will be shocked if the Thunder don't win it all this year. They have such a complete roster, with multiple guys who can play great if one or two get injured, sit out the game, etc. Genuinely can't think of any other team in the league that could stop them.

This OKC Thunder team currently has the best point differential in NBA history; 5 of the 6 teams that finished the season with a point differential of at least +11.0 has won the championship (1970-71 Bucks, 1971-72 Lakers, 1995-96 Bulls, 2016-17 Warrios, 2023-24 celtiKKKs) and the only team that didn't win it all (1971-72 Bucks) was during the same season the 1971-72 Lakers won the title. Both OKC and CLE have +11.0 point differentials this season

This current Thunder team remind me of how the second 3-Peat Chicago Bulls were constructed

I’m a Cavs fan, but OKC doubters are about to learn something. The Thunder are in the midst of the most dominant season in NBA history. They’ll be in the Finals. They’ll make mincemeat out of everyone in their path. It’s going to be fun to watch.

Let’s not forget the 08 Celtics were far and away the best team and almost lost to the hawks in 7 games in the first round. So it is possible for that to happen to the thunder but it’s also possible for them to steamroll everyone so I guess we’ll see with the matchups.
