Lyrics:
take a picture to remember this by
you’ll never hold all the details in your mind
fillin’ your head with superfluous facts
pushin’ out what you’re never getting back

and all that’s left is a version of the truth
a recollection that is often misconstrued
sergeant pepper with the faces of friends
but the names all elude you in the end

kiss me just this one last time
tell me that you once were mine

take a picture to remember me by
to show everybody who you left behind
the near miss that almost shot you out of the blue
i was a city you were only passing through

and all that’s left is a version of events
favorably framed for the sake of self-defense
we barely notice as the pages disappear
floating off into another year

kiss me just this one last time
tell me that you once were mine
kiss me just this one last time
show me that your love was mine

I've really been sleeping on death cab the last few years but this is great! I love the simpler production on this, like old times

This is absolutely stuck in my head right now. Best DCFC I've heard in years - and the acoustic version is even better. Amazing.

This album is so tasteful and well done, classic death cab

One of their best tunes ever warrants a video. It's great to see bands like DC, Spoon and RHCP still making great music after all of these years.

Fave death cab lyrics:
“I was a city you were only passing through”
“And if you feel just like a tourist in the city you were born
Then, it's time to go”

Still love DCFC after all these years.

This song is so unassuming and subtle but it's such a grower. Weirdly appreciated it more with the visualiser but what I focussed on was the music and production. Lovely.

This whole album is solid from front to back. Glad I got back into them.

This song is incredible! it reminds me of the Codes and Keys era. The best song they've released in years imho.I really love it.
The video reminds me of the opening credits of the second season of The Leftovers

That warm synth line in the Chrous gives me Tycho vibes and I'm here for it!!

Roman Candles was a pretty good first single, and my local indie station playing Here to Forever got me really excited about the album, but Pepper quickly became my favorite song. Glad to see they're embracing this one.

This really does sound like a classic song from an older album. I am a fan. It's also sad and reminds me of all the lost loves of my life. Will the next be the one? Or just another future lost lover.

Such a pretty song, one of the year's best! The steel drums and synths are exquisite and evoke a longing sad a tinge of melancholy at the same time. Just great.

Always thought this song’s lyrics were again in reference to Zooey D. and Ben’s divorce, and now the fact that they dropped this on her birthday… 😮😮

Ben was the one who gave me so much hope during covid.

I can't hardly listen to a single song by this band that doesn't make me want to cry my eyes out.
