people forget vader has dealt with beings who can come back from the dead before silo being one of them so all vader would have to do is exploit voldemorts weakness in his immortality and it would mean nothing to vader not only that vader has been shown to condem the grand inquisitor to a fate worse then death after he died so if vader could do similar to voldemort then voldemort is screwed

Tbh, I think most of the arguments given are a bit shallow and just come down to 'I think Vader is cooler'

Firstly, you can't say Voldemort is defenseless because he can't use the force, the same logic literally applies to Vader and HP magic.

A factor often overlooked is the fact that HP magic has a weird effect on any type of technology, where basically tech doesn't work in proximity to magic. If this applies here, that could fuck up both Vader's lightsaber and more importantly his suit.

Sure Vader in theory could snap Voldemort's neck in an instant, quicker than Voldemort could react, but when has any fight in SW actually gone that way. Especially given that Vader likes to toy with his opponents.

I would say Vader is more powerful in most factors, apart from variety. The range of attacks that Vader has is relatively limited, compared to massive range of spells Voldemort could use. E.g. what could Vader do about Voldemort transforming his lightsaber into a stick?

This isn't me taking a particular side, just some food for thought for a more balanced argument.

Seems thin. What if HP magic is completely apart from The Force? Vader would be defenseless. And Vader can only work with objects that already exist. Voldemort could create a column of fire to attack from the front and a giant snake to attack from the rear.

Yeah, Vader, hands down. Voldemort is powerful, but he has had issue with those who can match him in the past. He is more likely to avoid direct battle while Vader would plow right in, with unrelenting force.

Vader would literally end it in 0.2 seconds, this wouldn't even be a fight 💀💀. All he needs to do is just move his fingers. This can't even be a comparison.

Vader is still far more powerful. The Horcruxes may not mean he's gone forever, but Vader can still destroy Voldy's body

Vader once dealt with someone similar to voldemort. Who could also come back from the dead, in their fight vader kept killing him but eventually wearing down the dark lord. However he forgot the main generator of vader's power, His rage so as a result to kill him permanently he crushed his soul

Actually, neither because they are both dead. Vold died at the end of the Harry Potter series. Vader died in The Return of the Jedi(Episode 6 in the movie series). Vader became the force spirit of Anakin and his body was ritualistically burned by Luke. But if both were alive and somehow met and dueled, Vader would immediately win due to the force choke.

Idk why this made me think this but would vader's saber be able to block a killing curse? also it would probably be affected by the Expelliarmus spell? not that it would change the outcome.

Voldy dosent need a wand or to say the incantation for the killing curse hes faster than vader (can instantly aparate and disaperate wherever and in a world they both exist should be able to deflect force powers the same as magic he can also turn into smoke so a force grip wouldnt even work at that point
