How to Convert 6-bolt Disc Rotor to Fit Centerlock Mount Hub in Less Than 5 Minutes

If you have 6-bolt type rotors for your bike's disc brakes but your wheels are centerlock mount, don't worry! You can convert them to fit in under 5 minutes using a Shimano Disc Rotor Adapter (SM-RTAD05)!

I got a center lock adapter with my new dt Swiss wheels. When installing it you don’t need to use any bolts. Smart and working great.

Great video! Just one minor thing to not forget: Degrease/clean your disc when you are done.. The oil on your hands may conteminate the disc..

Just a simple comment:
Those 6 screws are very small and the recommended torque is about 6 NM. I bought this kit and 2 screw heads broke off. I had to buy another kit just to get those particular screws.
Be careful if you use a torx socket that mounts to a torque wrench. If you do not place the torx bit directly (straight) into the head of the screw you risk snapping off the head of the screw.
Once I bought the new (2nd) kit I used a torx type “screwdriver” like shown in the video. I could place it directly on the bolt head firmly and it worked perfectly.
Of course, I couldn’t guarantee that I torqued it to 6 NM - but it seems to work fine.

Grease, make sure to use some grease just in case you need to get the darn thing off for a new wheel.!.

I'm puzzled why anyone would want to do this, considering that a brand-new Center Lock rotor can be bought for under 10€. I'm surprised that Shimano manufactures such an adapter.
