5MV-48 - Disc Brake Rotors: Center-lock to 6-bolt adapters
--------------------------------------
This is how you can connect 6-bolt disc rotors to Shimano Center Lock (CenterLock, Center-lock?) hubs.

Thanks to a subscriber for pointing out that I made a mistake with the torque setting. I said 2Nm when I should have said 20Nm; although 40Nm is more typical for steel lock rings.

About the 5MV channel
--------------------------------------
My name is Terry and I love cycling. I have named my channel “Five Minute Velo” (5MV). I have called it 5MV because the videos I upload will last no longer than five minutes, many will be much shorter. Each video will cover just one subject that is described in the title. Although the channel is mainly about cycling on the road, I will also cover some light (gravel) off road riding and cycle touring from time to time. No matter what, much of the advice will be pertinent to many branches of the sport/pastime.

I am new to posting videos on YouTube (May 2020) and I have much to learn, particularly in terms of presentation style and production quality. As such I welcome constructive comments that will help me improve the videos that I produce and upload.

There may be some dry humor in some of the videos, so dry it may not always be obvious :-).

I'm a complete novice with all this. I've just bought a Surly ECR 29+ so this is very useful. Thanks.

Great vid - you mentioned spec says 2Nm!!!! this is barely finger tight. Most of these say 40Nm on them - which is extremely tight but suggest you check with the adapter instructions - usually printed on the lock ring as I wouldn't ride it at only 2Nm tightness!

How does it impact offset of rotor? Can the wheel be replaced without caliper adjustments (given previous wheel was a 6 bolt, and this new replacement is a centerlock)?

Hello please I wonder if I could use this adapter for 203mm rotors?? Does it fit all different diameters?

How many teeth are on the center lock spline I’m trying to make a conversion for a wheelchair

Let's say I'm trying to build a bike with two different wheels, like a Gravel set of wheels and a road set of wheels. One of them are 6 bolts and the other one are center lock. The offset of hub assembly on each wheel will be the same? Cause, just looking at pictures looks like 6 bolts is more towards outside.

Will a six star adapter be able to mount onto a Shimano parallax bs FH-RM60 rear bike hub or not.

Do they sell a conversion for a single speed axel?

Center lock are only for 28 holes bike rims like a 700cc. Instead of a center lock I got a six bolt with a thirty six hole Shimano hub.

Are there any adaptors that are the other way around? A center lock rotor to a 6-bolt hub.

there are lots of video adapters for centerlock hubs to sixbolt rotors, but why am I looking for the other way around and they're not there? I mean, why doesn't anyone make a video adapter for a sixbolt hub to centerlock rotor?

Irritating in this, otherwise informative video is the fact that the expert of the matter touches the brake disc with bare fingers. Anyone who has ever used a poorly braking disc brake knows that greasy brake discs are the most important cause of poor braking performance of disc brakes.
