I'm not even a month into retirement, and the 10 to 12 hour days in an office are done. Now, I can consider the things that I want to do for myself, including my physical and mental health.

Love the video! 100% can relate with Jody’s comment about how psychologically difficult it is to shift from accumulation to spending mode especially with a scarcity fear! At 63, with 2 pensions locked in (b4 SS) but still working 50+ hr wks for fear of still not having enough! Health is taking a hit now mentally especially in current work environment! So looking forward to retiring in 8-9 months!

I'm 3 minutes into this video, and it totally resonates with me. I've spent the last 45 years earning, saving, and raising a family. I just retired. No more $ coming in. Huge transition. I've got to spend what I've saved. That's a BIG change!

You two are great My husband Andy and I just started our own retirement YouTube channel — he was reluctant but now he’s already trying to take over the show 😆 Love seeing other couples making this chapter fun & educational!

I'm still one year away from a 30 year pension but this video has me totally psyched for retirement!

I worked for 49 years, mostly in a corporate environment, and now retired for 18 months. The freedom to focus on yourself and to do as much as you want on your own schedule is fantastic. Keep up the great content, I enjoy your videos.

I can relate to Jody. I grew up without a lot of money and continue to work now because I feel compelled to acccumulate assets. I could easily live of my present nest egg. However, I have started thinking about retirement a lot more as work is becoming a little less fun than it used to.

Well said. At 80 we still roam. Heading to Albania for two months. Retired military we have health care (TriCare) and VA.
GREAT info and advice. More freedom, fun, and much more disposable income. Onwards, through the fog.

Managing your retirement is a part time job . I’m not afraid of the market dip I’m pushing money in and riding it out . America first ! Not all change is easy. Leaving UPS this year after 35 years. I think I’ll forget all about the place after two weeks.

My wife followed me around the world for 30 year while I served in the army. I retired and followed her around the world so she could pursue her career as a teacher. So, 11 years I’m retired and she works. Now she’s considering retirement. I would like to hear your thoughts on the challenges of one retired and the other not yet and the transition to both being retired.

Agree with Jody about earning and scarcity. I am retiring soon but will need to do something else for many reasons!

I will be 53 in 6 months. Planning to retire at 60 and withdraw SS at 62. Home and 3 rentals all paid off, making $210k a year. Wife is 6 months younger and been a stay at home wife all her life. My daughter will finish college when I turn 60, perfect time for me to retire. 😊

Just being retired after doing hair for 37 years seems so weird to not have those relationships yet when doing hair it’s such intimate conversations! So thanks on addressing that it just changes

I've been retired for 3 whole months. I'm still up at 0430. Started at the YMCA after sitting around for 2 months. Taking an online class in gunsmithing while building a Flintlock Rifle in my shop. Waiting on my wife to retire so we can figure out the rest of it.

Same here! Fearful to stop adding to assets. Beginning depletion after 40 yrs of building, is so opposite of my mindset, yikes

Biggest fear in retirement? Probably an unnecessary tariff war that wipes out some of my retirement investments and causes prices to rise to where I can’t afford my groceries. 😮
