As an iPhone user, I have never been very impressed with Siri's abilities. To be honest, I have consistently found Siri to be plain dumb and incapable of carry out the simplest of tasks. Asking Siri to pause a video or raise/lower the volume never worked. We'll see what the AI augmentation to Siri will do, but let's see how it goes.

When Apple is not innovating, it seems like is playing catch up only because they don’t rush into releasing immature technology. They actually figure out first if it can have a purpose in people’s lives, then work for years to make it better before introducing it to the market. While the competitors prefers to be the first and settle with what they have achieved, Apple simply thinks different.

For me, the new Siri has one big advantage: it is not based on a person's appearance. There is a great danger in having AI as a human partner. It subconsciously creates a sense of familiarity and therefore credibility. I am more likely to accept the answer of "my" AI as correct than that of a machine. So it's a step in the right direction!

My biggest problem along with siri not being very informative is that the siri on my phone doesn't recognize my mac siri so when i say hey siri set an alarm on my mac it doesnt understand.futhermore, when i call out to siri on my iphone, siri on my mac far away answers.

At 84, I have lived a better life before the tech industry invaded the Planet's 8 billion population. My first mobile phone took a flight but missed the open window and crashed on the wall. That was 2004, I only had it for 4 weeks, never replaced it. Today's "Smart" everything world is a fake world, utterly disgusting seeing people and their gadgets as part of their physical body everywhere. I have a Mac computer to do music and world peace related artwork, but after 24 years of it I curse the entire tech industry for turning people into robots and Life into a robot factory. I just asked SIRI to set an alarm for this friday at 5pm but that couldn’t happen because alarms can only be set 24hrs in advance or something, so I then asked it to set a reminder but I apparently need an app for reminders! So I picked up a pen and wrote it on our calendar in the kitchen. Still want to scare me with AI?
