Not only is this video what I needed right now because I’m looking for a first mod, but it was straight to the point and there was sound clips. And you have a manual and that Gti is sick. Plus 50$ does sound cool

This is one of the reasons I did the down pipe first on the A4. I'm not a loud exhaust person, I just like little bit of that tone.

That sounds great, & I dig that you haven’t gone overboard on mods.

I have a res delete with a catless downpipe and I love how the pops sound like gunshots now instead of popcorn

I just got my first car, and its a mk7 gti. I wanted to go APR stage 2 and I watched all of your videos. But now I know from a person that has experienced it all, that just a downpipe is gonna do the job. I just want the car to be a little louder, and make some pops and bangs. So now I know a downpipe is the way to go, but know the question is which downpipes should I get. Thanks for all the help from the videos, keep making great content.

This has always been my thoughts on the GTI. Like, it’s a subtle car... no need to make it sound like a ricer lol

Reving right after a cold start is not the move.

This definitely changed my mind about a future exhaust setup

So true regarding just a downpipe for the MK7 GTI. As a 3 year owner of my 2015, I have to say, the stupid amount of money spent on different exhaust variations versus having just purchased a quality downpipe from the get go stands as the biggest frustration I had early on. Beginning with a custom 400$ axle back aka stainless piping with nice tips so therefore deleting the muffler, only caused the car to sound good on startup. Trash afterward. Then, on the same setup, I thought res delete. This resulted in further dissatisfaction, except now I didn't even have my stock catback to utilize anymore. Long story short, after having most recently had a catless downpipe and some version close to just a basic resonated catback, I finally got it right, with a catted USP downpipe on a stock catback. Shit I wish I knew from the get go, but my past Volkswagens were different. All in all, totally agree with you🍻🇩🇪

I can second this opinion. I had originally done a resonator delete and after the cat-less downpipe with a resonator from MAPerformace the tone was perfect. No terrible drone and it is just right when you step on it.

To everyone doubting him, I just installed a catless downpipe tonight with a muffler delete, sounds like a slightly better Honda and is at least 4 times louder than the car is with just a muffler delete. Already regret not putting my muffler back on before the install

Just getting started with my own mk7, and I stumbled upon your channel. Great content for helping me figure out where to go with my own gti.

Agreed, I considered getting a res delete but after reconsidering it I changed my mind. APR downpipe with stage 2 is perfect imo, doesn't pop for days like some other tunes and isn't excessively loud. It's just perfect.

Yo is that just a downpipe with the stock mufflers on your GTI? It sounds great!

I definitely agree with getting a DP while keeping the rest of the exhaust stock. I'm going this route when I go Stage 2. Coupled with a free-flowing intake/charge pipe system, it'll definitely round things out and make for a pleasurable driving experience.

I got myself the APR catback system, the sound improvement is like day and night. Stock is basically no sound at all. The exhaust didn't cost much more than the downpipe, and here we have the issue of easily making your car illegal, so everything needs approvements and shit. But I might do the downpipe as well, since it seems to help a lot.

Just ordered a downpipe the other day and this video definitely helps reinforce that decision!

Muffler delete is great if you don't plan on ever going Stage 2.

Downpipe + OEM catback is good but you may want to swap resonator to the Vibrant 17950 to reduce drone

I have a Remus Catback with a res delete and stock DP. Sounds deep. SOMETIMES I wish it was louder. But for daily driving, I’m quite happy.
