Orange PI make some nice hardware, and their docs are not bad. But they have serious limits on software, and in their agreements with 3rd parties. As far as I can test, none of their Linux versions have hardware video acceleration working (so when saying the hardware supports XYZ, yes, but pointless if the software you ship is basically broken.).

The android version is ok. Its not 'old', but its sure clunky, and you have to work through the clunk to get it workable. After that, its ok-ish.

At the VERY LEAST, Orange PI need to negotiate the software blob level drivers for Linux. Until they reach that minimal level - can't recommend them no matter how nice the hardware may be.
