I admit guys, I failed to resist the morbid curiosity when I saw this as an Ad in my recommended videos

I think it's clear that this song is about escapism and dreaming. Sometimes life becomes so bad all you want to do is sleep, live in a fantasy where you can't deal with it anymore. It's easier to do that, to just stay in bed and wander off.

But life gets more and more straining that the narrator (aku) has to stay up at night and think about the problems and deal with them. He's also been so addicted to dreaming that sometimes it's confusing to actually know the difference. I believe the video with anime girls in the real world shows this aswell.

He's losing sleep from many things: a person, overthinking, the things people tell him, the future and anxiety.

I believe the line and dancing with nightmares is him having some solace in his insomnia.

I feel like this song is the embodiment of depression. It doesn’t outright say it’s sad, but it’s describing a struggle. The images help a ton as well, they are a mix of suicidal, random, and lonely. It’s like a cry to be loved. Looking at the images and listening to the lyrics invokes a deep feeling in me. Like I want to be comfortable. I don’t want sex, money, I just want to be happy with someone.
