Back into From The Depths and building the battleship, engines have been added, or most of them and we are working on a big laser system to rule them all!

i think mixing q switches for lasers is better for lams but for a attack laser you probably want all q switches except if its extremely powerfull

She's looking big and beautiful, can't wait for her to face off against the Titanslang! Budget looks to be about 1.7 or 1.8 million so far.
As other people have said, it's better not to mix laser systems with different numbers of Q switches, you're welcome for the ammo box tip, and that LWC detection error thing is really handy to know, cheers! 😁👍

Having your lasers switch its target block every second isn't good. Think of lasers as a chisel or drill, rather than a single large blast it chips as whatever it's shooting at. If it constantly switches where it aims all it will accomplish is stripping armor. If you want it to destroy internal bits it needs some time to drill a hole into the ship.

As I understand it (which might be incorrect) you really want to focus on "all the Q switches" or "continuous only", without mixing on the same system unless you're going for a particular look/ effect. From what I remember, each Q switch basically "divides" the laser blast into a pulse. 1Q = 1 blast a sec, 4Q= 4/sec, etc. The thing is, you're taking that same amount of energy and "saving" it up for the pulse, so you get more effective/efficient damage with more switches. Example: you have a hose that sprays, say, 10 liters a minute. Just having the hose on will spray the hose continuously and evenly for that minute. With Q switches, you're still be pushing out that 10 L/m, but the "pressure" will be much higher _per pulse_ and each pulse will hurt more than the continuous stream. I hope that bad description will help somewhat - it's certainly something to look into!

4:32 I didn't know this even existed
edit: 19:42 that too

Add laser riders to your missiles they'll hit more.

You need to measure engine efficiency under full load (use jammers), everything else they display is a lie.

I also just started using lasers and I think I prefer using 4q lasers. My laser system on my battleship is not insanely strong but each shot does just enough damage to zap off 1 4m metal beam at 1km. I think that it is better to just use 1 type of Q laser instead of trying to mix them. Using just one would also allow you to use less cavities for the same damage output which would make for a cheaper laser system, which would also reduce the number of engines that you would require.

You should add a very small stagger fire to the mortars. I think it would look cool if they fired from the front to the back in like a 0.1 second stagger.

Should rebuild that laser system a few times, see if you can make a cheaper system that works better. I Find adding more storage works well. But it's diminishing returns.
I think i do like 12-15 large pumps per battery/ capacitor storage. What i usually do for mine. Maybe adding more pumps is good, i found too many pumps per storage just didn't really do much.
That ship is coming along rather nice thow dude. Looks real nice so far. Love the tetris going on in ya crams.

Yo I’m making a super battleship I could share, but it costs over 5 million materials and I’m not even done lol
